How To Communicate With Purpose and Create Your Reality

The words we speak are a reflection of our internal dialogue — and they have the power to create the circumstances of our lives. Human beings possess two forces of creation: physical reproduction and speech. The latter is considered the most powerful, yet the most challenging for humankind to master.

This truth is reflected in many sacred scriptures. In Genesis 1:3: “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”The Word precedes manifestation. In John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” In the Guru Granth Sahib, Naam — the sacred word — is revered above all.

Consider the two ways we create physical reality. When we give birth to a baby, it takes ten months for the body to artfully align every necessary component. Once ready, there is a canal to pass through. The throat is that same canal — through which we give birth to words. If we do not artfully align our words with our thoughts and emotions, they enter the world diminished, disconnected from their true power. Pregnancy takes months of reverence, yet we give birth to words carelessly, moment to moment, without pausing to listen to our inner voice. This constant talking without purpose creates chaos and suffering.

The Kabbalistic Book of Splendor, the Zohar, teaches that we have the power to create angels with our words. In this context, “angels” refers to ideas and energies. Positive words create angels of light. Negative words create angels of darkness. The words themselves do not stand alone — when we speak, we assign intention, and that intention can change the literal meaning of any word.

In Hebrew, the word milah — Mem, Yod, Lamed, Hey — translates to “word.” When those letters are rearranged, we find the permutation la’ma, meaning “why?” Behind every word, the intention must be clear. Before we speak, we must ask ourselves: why am I choosing these words? Is the intention to create or to destroy?

Whether you feel misunderstood, unheard, or unable to express yourself authentically, the solution lies in cultivating the power of the word. Together we will uncover what shapes your communication — so you can speak with purpose and clarity, and create the reality you desire.

5 Ways to Communicate With Purpose:

  1. Pause before you speak. Ask yourself: is this true? Is this necessary? Is this kind? All three must be present for your words to carry light.
  2. Align your words with your emotions. Words spoken from a place of unprocessed emotion lose their power. Take a breath, feel into what you truly want to say, then speak.
  3. Listen as much as you speak. Purposeful communication is not a monologue — it is a sacred exchange. The quality of your listening determines the quality of your speaking.
  4. Notice the angels you are creating. After a conversation, check in with yourself. Did your words build or diminish? Did they bring you closer or create distance?
  5. Invoke the sacred before you speak. Before an important conversation, take a moment of silence and set an intention. Ask to be a vessel of truth, clarity and love.
